Period three seemed to be the turning point!  Turkeys that were henned up and wouldn't respond to any calling over the past two weeks seemed to turn on.  Had a great week with four turkeys harvested!   Congrats to all.  I am hoping to see more of this hot action come this week!

The turkey season is well on its way with several birds on the ground, with four on film!  Birds around here are pretty call shy.  I am going to start using my knowlege of where birds are and go to them rather than having the birds come to me.  It paid off last night, with not picking up the call or even setting a decoy. 

Went out scouting this morning.  Starting to see some more birds than a week ago.  They are starting to use the fields since the majority of the snow is off.  Wintering groups are just starting to break up, but I am still seeing large bachlor groups of toms and flocks of solid hens.
